How many of the great stories of our childhood began with those lines? I wouldn't suggest beginning a story with those lines now, but what if those simple words would help spark the writing process?
How many time have we sat and fought against a blank page, not knowing for sure what those perfect first words would be? Forget the perfect words! Too many times we sit and stress about making sure those first marks on our page are perfect, exactly what we want to say. Those words may never just magically come to you. So how about writing the words that do?
On those days when you're staring at a blank page and nothing is happening. Start out with a simple, Once Upon A Time - throw in a little goal, motivation and conflict and see what happens. Could be the start of the next bestseller!
